Implementation & Onboarding
What format do you need our student/teacher data in, and how much of the migration is manual?
We work with Excel files. Migration itself is handled by the Vecta team — including your historical student, teacher, and attendance records — so your staff isn't doing manual data entry.
Who sets up the weekly pacing goals — do admins enter every syllabus topic themselves?
The school admin sets the curriculum plan and weekly targets; teachers then update progress against it as they teach. See Pace for details.
Usability & Communication
Do parents need to download an app to get updates?
No separate app is required — Nudge sends updates over WhatsApp, SMS, or in-app, whichever fits the parent best. See Nudge for details.
Support & Security
What are your support hours, and is a dedicated account manager assigned?
Support hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and yes — every school gets a dedicated account manager.
Where is student data hosted, and what security protocols protect it?
Student data is hosted on Supabase's cloud infrastructure (Mumbai, South Asia region), which maintains SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 compliance at the infrastructure level.
Switching From Another System
Can our historical student/teacher/attendance data be mapped into Vecta automatically?
Yes — our team handles onboarding for your school, and historical data is mapped into Vecta as part of that process, without manual re-entry on your end.
Can we run both systems in parallel during a transition, mid-term or mid-year?
Yes. We can exchange data directly with your current provider, which makes switching straightforward whether it happens mid-term or mid-year.
If we ever leave Vecta, how easily can we export our data?
We can coordinate directly with your next provider to transfer your curriculum logs, mastery data, and student history — or work with your technical team if you're moving to a custom-built system.
Mastery & Pace Customization
If a class falls behind by two weeks, how easily can a teacher adjust the schedule?
The teacher raises a request to the admin with the suggested new dates. Once the admin approves it, the pace plan updates automatically — no need to rebuild the term calendar by hand.
Is "mastery" based purely on test scores, or can teachers factor in daily checks too?
Mastery is calculated from the Assessments and Assignments tabs — the marks students score there. Daily checks and participation can also be logged in the assessment tabs and factored in the same way.
When a pacing nudge goes to a parent, does it just flag the issue?
No — it doesn't just flag a problem. The message explains what's happening with their child and what they can do to help, rather than leaving parents with just a warning.
Administrative Visibility
Can a principal see one bird's-eye view of which grades or subjects are lagging school-wide?
This is on our roadmap (Phase 3) and not yet live — we'll update this answer once it ships.
Does mastery data feed into report cards automatically?
This is also part of our Phase 3 roadmap and not yet available as an automatic integration.
